Filey Methodist Church resounded to the songs of Rodgers and Hammerstein yesterday as part of the Filey Festival. Sue Hartley's Tuesday Singers, along with soloists Michael O'Brien and Donna Switzer-Green entertained the audience with old favourites from the musicals Oklahoma, South Pacific, Calamity Jane and Carousel. Special congratulations to the guys on their lively performance of "There is Nothing Like a Dame." Also to Michael and Donna who provided a gentler mood with some well chosen love songs. But, for the Tuesday Singers, a community group who have only been together for a year - Well Done! Performing at a festival like this can be quite daunting and some of the group have never experienced anything like this before. A HUGE "Thank you" to Sue Hartley, who rehearses the group every Tuesday morning - giving so many people the opportunity to experience the joy of singing.
