Singaround has become the talk of the Academy after so many successful evenings. Its attraction is giving the opportunity to those who love singing, but who would normally not perform, to have a go. So many of us who would probably never had had the confidence to sing to an audience are now all practising hard to prepare something for the next one. Also, there is the chance to sing any style of music, which ensures an exciting and entertaining evening.

This week was no exception. Once again new singers were applauded enthusiastically by the rest of the group. Paul and Steve's comic rendering of "The Bold Gendarmes," accompanied by Julia on piano, was a treat, with their "French bread stick" weapons causing great amusement. Some lovely duets, where husbands accompanied their wives on guitars, were enjoyed by all. It was good to see singers and musicians who have only met recently performing together.

A huge "Thank you," goes to Sue who accompanies us so perfectly, whatever genre we choose. And when someone says, "I'd love to sing ..., but I don't have the music," there is rarely a time that Sue can't source it.

Our next Singaround is on Monday 5th December ( 8.00 - 9.30.) We will be singing Christmas Songs, so we hope to see you there.
